Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Bible Study
Bible study Schedule 2010-11 Early in 2007, six members of St. Anthony of Padua set out to re-energize Bible study in the parish. With the encouragement and support of Father George Highberger, six facilitators established a robust plan. That plan includes small group study sessions, participation in off-campus regional retreats during Advent and Lent and sponsorship of a day-long seminar in Wickenburg. That plan continues today with a Fall and Winter Bible study and a seminar in February. The schedule and lessons are outlined below. Fall Study – The Infancy Narratives of Jesus This study focuses on the connection between the Old and New Testaments. Deepen your longing for the Messiah’s coming again and asking God to be Emmanuel, "God with us." Lessons will be on November 3, 10, 17, and December 1.
Winter Study –Israel’s Story – Part TwoThis lesson continues to explore Israel’s history and theology, from the division of the kingdom, through the prophets to the southern kingdom of Judah, the Exile in Babylon, and the return to restore Jerusalem. Lessons will start in January. Watch the Bulletin for more information. For more information about Bible Study call Eddie Girard – 928 684- 3577. February 2011 Seminar The seminar this year will focus on the Gospel of St. John. The one day seminar is scheduled for February 19, 2011. Watch for details in the bulletin
