Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church ST. VINCENT de PAUL
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a worldwide Christian community founded in 1833 by a group of Catholic lay people who joined together to form the first conference. The vocation of the Society’s members, who are called Vincentians, is to follow Christ through service to those in need and so bear witness to His compassion and liberating love. Members show their commitment through person-to-person contact. No work of charity is foreign to the Society. It includes any form of help that alleviates suffering or deprivation and promotes human dignity and personal integrity in all their dimensions. Within the Parish of Saint Anthony of Padua, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is represented by a membership of approximately forty individuals whose current primary efforts are in support of a food pantry. The pantry, located adjacent to the church, is open twice a week. In addition to providing food boxes to the needy, the conference also provides monetary assistance in the form of rent or lodging, help with utility bills, gas vouchers and other services that individual situations might require. Pantry hours are from 9:00 AM till 11:30 AM each Monday and Friday.
